On November 15, 2018, during the "China Optics Valley" International Optoelectronics Expo and Forum (OVC EXPO2018), the "5G Era Information and Communication Industry Summit Forum" was held in China Optics Valley Technology Exhibition Center. Ma Jun, a specialist in Fiberhome communications technology, delivered a keynote speech on “Evolution of Bearer Network Technology in the 5G Era”. It mainly introduced the requirements of 5G bearer network and new technology development, as well as the progress of Bonfire in the 5G bearer field and the deployment of 5G bearer network.
5G opens the era of all things connected
Ma Jun believes that with the development of mobile communication technology, the means of human information exchange is more efficient and convenient. The development of the industry needs to expand more business scenarios and create more connection scales and applications. Different from previous generations of mobile communication technologies, 5G will not only meet the needs of people with high traffic density, ultra-high connection density and ultra-high mobility, but also penetrate into the field of Internet of Things, with industrial facilities, transportation logistics, medical instruments and other depths. Combine and fully realize the “Internet of Everything” to effectively meet the information service needs of vertical industries such as industry, transportation and medical care. 5G provides a flexible and on-demand service network that integrates into all walks of life and will change social life and production methods, bringing potential business opportunities to operators. New services for the 5G era have placed higher demands on network capabilities, and the continuous innovation of network technologies has led to a significant increase in network capabilities.
5G bearer evolution and innovation is imperative
Compared with the evolution of 2G to 3G/4G, the evolution of 4G to 5G will change significantly in both the wireless domain and the cable bearer network architecture and related technologies.
In the wireless field, technologies such as large-scale antenna array, ultra-dense networking, new multi-access and full-spectrum access have become the focus of attention in the industry. The wireless side is changed from the traditional RRU-BBU two-level architecture to AAU-DU-CU three. Layer architecture, the core network will be clouded and sink. In the network field, basic network transformation based on Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is the industry consensus. Campfire to practice and promote 5G development
In the past, bonfire has actively promoted the development of the 5G bearer industry chain in various aspects such as standards, technology, products and pilots.
At present, Bonfire has taken the lead in the number and quality of 5G bearer-related standards in the ITU-T cumulative proposal. As a major force, ITU-T G.mtn “Interfaces for a metro transport” was promoted at the ITU-T SG15 plenary meeting in October 2018. "network" and G.709.25-50G "25G and 50G OTN interfaces" were successfully established. In November 2018, the "FlexE over 50GE PHY applications and frame format" led by the bonfire was approved by OIF and laid the foundation for the development of the follow-up industry.
Bonfire continues to innovate in technology and empowers 5G. Related products and technologies have been extensively piloted by the three major operators in China.
