The "Embrace F5.5G, Innovate and Lead the City of Ten Thousand Megabytes" forum was successfully held during the Huawei Analysts Conference in 2023. Industry organizations, industry analysts, leading operator companies, and Huawei conducted in-depth discussions on the development strategy and application scenarios of the F5.5G industry.

In order to meet the network connectivity needs of businesses with ultra gigabit bandwidth, ETSI released the "F5G Advanced and Beyond" white paper in 2022, and WBBA (World Broadband Association) also released the roadmap for the development of next-generation broadband, gradually becoming an industry consensus from gigabit to gigabit.

Jin Yuzhi, President of Huawei Optical Product Line, said, "For F5.5G, the all-optical 10G city will officially depart from the five major scenarios of 'connecting home, enterprise, online, connected computing, and intelligent sensing'. We propose that the entire industry work together in standard formulation, policy promotion, technological innovation, and ecological applications to jointly build a 10G city and move towards an intelligent world

Wan Zhaolian Home: The emergence of new applications such as ultra high definition video, XR/metaverse, and cloud computing requires larger bandwidth, lower latency, and higher reliability of home broadband. Taking 8K naked eye 3D TV as an example, in order to achieve H.264 compressed multi view imaging, an access bandwidth of over 3Gbps is required.

Wanzhao Lianqi: The intelligent application of the park cannot be separated from the improvement of network capabilities. Applications such as digital assisted diagnosis and treatment, multi seat live broadcast of events, holographic interaction design, etc. require the 10 Gigabit Optical Network to provide enterprises with more than 1Gbps of user access bandwidth and less than 10 milliseconds of network delay.

10Gbps online: With the digital upgrading of industries such as power, manufacturing, and ports, future industrial production needs to build a 10Gbps all optical production network to provide optical networks with over 10Gbps, latency less than 1 millisecond, and jitter less than 20 microseconds for ultra high definition AOI quality inspection, production line PLCs, etc.

10000 megabytes of connected computing: With the rapid development of cloud computing, the network bandwidth between data centers and users is growing rapidly, and the latency requirements are also constantly increasing. Through 400G backbone network, 100G metro access and all-optical scheduling minimalist architecture, the 10G network provides a high-quality all-optical quality transport network, making the cloud computing power become an out of the box resource.

Intelligent perception: The fiber optic sensing ability enables the digitization of optical cables, enabling the visualization and management of fiber optic networks, accurately locating faults, and improving network operational efficiency. On the basis of home broadband access, laser 3D light sensing technology can dynamically monitor elderly fall scenes, providing assistance for elderly health protection.

Facing the future, industry experts attending the meeting called on all parties in the industry to continue promoting the development of innovative businesses and experiences. Richard Mahony, a member of WBBA and Vice President of Informa Tech Operator Marketing, stated that WBBA promotes the roadmap of broadband intergenerational evolution and brings sustainable long-term investment returns to all industries. Ao Li, Chief Engineer of China Academy of Information and Communications, proposed that the F5G-A era marked by the 10 Gigabit Optical Network is accelerating and will build a solid digital infrastructure artery for connecting home, enterprise, cloud, and computing.
