OceanStor Pacific Storage Achieves World First IO500 Ranking

Recently, the most authoritative international storage performance ranking, the latest IO500 ranking, was officially released. The Cheeloo-1 system, with OceanStor Pacific distributed storage as its core base, ranked first on the 10 node list, significantly increasing the world record.


IO500 is the most influential world-class storage ranking in the HPC (High Performance Computing) field, mainly evaluating and ranking the performance of storage systems, comprehensively examining bandwidth performance (GiB/s) and metadata performance (kIOP/s). Among them, the 10 node ranking unifies the computing scale, limiting the benchmark performance testing to 10 computing nodes, which can more comprehensively and accurately reflect the actual performance of storage in daily applications, and has attracted the attention of customers in the global HPC field.


The core storage base that broke the world record this time, Huawei OceanStor Pacific distributed storage, achieved a bandwidth of 2400 GiB/s and metadata performance of 7.7 million kIOP/s by simulating different I/O application models and undergoing 12 rigorous scenario tests. Reaching the top of the IO500 list marks another milestone in its technological achievements in the industry. At the same time, it also demonstrates its scale and commercial maturity in HPC scenarios such as university research, gene sequencing, meteorology and oceanography.
