The Supplier Carbon Reduction Conference was grandly held, with over 1000 suppliers from around the world and a total of over 3000 people attending the conference through live streaming. The attending guests will focus on the conference theme of "green, low-carbon, collaborative and win-win", benchmark industry best practices, jointly explore paths and methods to achieve green and low-carbon development, and jointly build a green, low-carbon, and sustainable industrial chain.

Carbon reduction is both a challenge and an opportunity for Huawei suppliers, "Tao Jingwen said." Huawei firmly believes that digital technology is a key enabler for addressing environmental challenges, protecting nature, and enabling green development. Digitalization and low-carbon can drive and promote each other, jointly promoting the green development of human society.

For many years, Huawei has been adhering to the environmental protection concept of "allowing technology to coexist with nature", actively addressing climate and environmental challenges. Based on ICT technology, it has focused on taking actions around "continuously improving energy conservation and emission reduction, increasing the use of renewable energy, and promoting circular economy", using technological innovation to protect the common home of humanity.

Huawei attaches great importance to the sustainable development of the global supply chain and, together with its partners, is committed to promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of the entire supply chain, reducing the impact of the supply chain on the environment, and reducing sustainable development risks. By holding a supplier carbon reduction conference, Huawei works with suppliers to strengthen the implementation of the green development mechanism.

Tan Qingliang, Director of the Climate Change Response Department of the Shenzhen Environmental Protection Bureau, said: "Shenzhen will release the" Guidelines for Setting Carbon Targets for Enterprises "and" Implementation Guidelines for Organizing Carbon Neutrality ", expand the scope of carbon market control and trading in Shenzhen, actively promote the application of near zero carbon pilot projects, and build a national (Shenzhen) with high standards The climate investment and financing project library will assist enterprises in matching green and low interest loans with commercial banks. The next step will also be to support corresponding fiscal incentive policies, and work together with the business community to achieve the goal of "dual control" of carbon emission intensity and total amount.

Huawei evaluates suppliers' carbon reduction performance annually from the dimensions of energy conservation, emission reduction, renewable energy use, and setting challenging carbon reduction targets, gradually increasing incentives for excellent suppliers in carbon reduction. Qin Gang, Director of Huawei's Global Procurement Technology and Quality Certification Department, stated: "Huawei has integrated green, low-carbon, and sustainable development requirements into its procurement business process, driving continuous improvement from all parties in the industry chain. We hope that suppliers can benchmark industry excellent practices, work with Huawei to continuously reduce total carbon emissions, and jointly build a green, low-carbon, and sustainable industrial chain.
